UChicago Ghosts Violence Prevention Groups After Promising $15M

The Violence Intervention Fund — launched following the deaths of three students — was a commitment to South Side groups that organize youth activities, mentorship, and more. Two years in, grantees say the university stopped communicating about the program after only contributing $2.7 million.
