MGM sues Las Vegas shooting victims

On October 1, 2017, Stephen Paddock opened fired at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival taking the lives of 58 concert atteendees and injuring almost 900 more.

As the victims of the shooting are trying to piece back what's left of their lives, MGM Grand, the parent company of the Mandalay Bay hotel  is suing.

A victim from Chicago and her attorney share how this lawsuit is forcing them to relive the trauma of that night.

In the complaint, MGM states if the defendants were injured by Paddock’s assult they were injured because they remained in the line of fire at the concert.

MGM's response is that the company is seeking justice through the federal court system in order to reach a timely resolution related to the shooting and to put an end to plaintiff attorneys filing lawsuits.

MGM also states its complaint is directed only toward people who either have already sued the company or have threatened to sue.

The attorney says when talking about change we have to look at Washington, have the states look at their own amendments as well as the courts look over current laws.
