Refugee exhibit comes to Daley Plaza

'Forced from home’, is the theme at the Daley Plaza this week. Doctors without Borders is making it their mission to have Chicagoans learn and experience what refugees go through when they're forced to leave their homes.

Refugees flee from their homes because of a lot of reasons, such as violence, natural disasters or deprivation.

At the start of the exhibit, you have to select five items you would take if you were fleeing from your home.

As you go through the experience of migration, you reach what is called borders and at each one, you have to give up an item, a reality check of how much you can take under pressure.

The exhibition has nine different stations, each station focusing on a diffrent issue that refugees might encounter. It is overwhelming information but the goal here is to have a touching experience.

The exhibit runs at 10 a.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends.
