Bulls trade Derrick Rose to Knicks

Derrick Rose is off to the Big Apple. The New York Knicks are acquiring Chicago Bull’s former All-Star point guard Derrick Rose and trading center Robin Lopez, guard Jose Calderon and guard Jerian Grant to Chicago.

Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek and general manager Steve Mills both said the team was interested in upgrading their point guard position in the offseason, according to ESPN.

Although Chicago’s hearts are heavy, Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history, has struggled with injury the past four years of his career. After missing an entire season due to his torn ACL in the 2012 playoffs, he suffered a torn meniscus just ten short games into the 2013-2014 season. He had surgery on his meniscus the following season before returning for the playoffs.

It's the end of an era. Rose, Chicago will miss you.
