Marlen-Ochoa Lopez Development

Marlen Ochoa-Lopez's family says they're not going to stop fighting for justice after new developments in the death of their beloved daughter and grandson, Yovanni Yadiel.

The slain mother’s family and friends say they're were shocked and they felt discriminated against when they found the Illinois Department of Public Health will not be not holding Advocate Christ Hospital accountable.

IDPH says after investigation, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services determined that Advocate Christ Hospital was found to be in substantial compliance with what happened to marlen's baby on April 23rd.

Christ Hospital released their own statement sharing their condolences with the Lopez-Ochoa family and thanking IDPH for it's review which, they say, showed the medical care provided and actions taken were appropriate.

Police said Marlen Ochoa's baby was cut out of her womb when she was lured into a Southwest side home and murdered by Clarisa Figueroa with the help of her boyfriend Peter Bobak and her daughter Desiree.

Court records say Clarisa arrived at Christ Hospital on April 23rd claiming she had just given birth to Marlen's baby. Those records also show, Clarisa was examined but the inconsistency of a pregnant mother were never reported by anyone at the hospital.

That baby boy, Yovanny Yadiel, just died on Friday after being in the intensive care unit at the hospital for 53 days.

Christ Hospital says it's looking to improve internal communication and is committed to learning from this experience.
