Sen. Dick Durbin in Chicago talking violence and Kavanaugh

The battle to appoint Judge Brett Kavanaugh as the next Supreme Court Justice continues and Illinois Senator Dick Durbin was there to participate in the hearings.

On Monday, Senator Durbin will be speaking at Maggiano’s on behalf of the City Club of Chicago. The democratic senator is heavily promoting a new hospital-led grassroots initiative that reduces violence and improves health in the city.

Senator Durbin is part of the Senate Judiciary Committee that heard the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh, and as such, questions about the hearing are expected to come up.

On Sunday, a White House official said no new TV appearances were planned for Kavanaugh, but "anything to further his case will be done with senators and with the FBI" meaning the public will have to wait at least a week.
