Overdoses remain the leading cause of death for Americans under the age of 50. Here in Illinois, that number is on the rise. August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day. It's a day for raising awareness about overdoses and reducing the stigma of drug-related deaths. Gateway Foundation is the country’s largest, nonprofit treatment provider specializing in substance use disorder treatment.
