New Videos Released in Shooting Death of 26-Year-Old Jemel Roberson

The shooting death of a 26-year-old security guard is back in the headiness, because of newly released video of the night the shooting happened.

The footage shows security guard Jemel Roberson lying on his back after getting shot the night of November 11th of last year.

Witnesses and Roberson’s co-workers are heard warned police Roberson was a security guard.

The videos were released by the Cook County Sheriff's Office include dashboard camera video, body camera video and recovered cellphone videos.

A fight broke out at Manny's Blue Room in Robbins, where Roberson was working security.

In the beginning, the video shows the fight being broken up and someone being forced out of the bar. Moments later, you see a man entering the bar and firing four shots.

Roberson dealt with one of the shooters in the parking lot and called police. Robbins Police asked for backup from Midlothian police. According to Robbins Police, a Midlothian officer is the one who fatally shot Roberson.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office says there is no video showing Officer Ian Covey, from Midlothian, shooting Roberson who was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His death was ruled a homicide.

The shooting inside the bar is being investigated by the sheriff's office. State police are investigating the Midlothian officer's use of force.
