$2,000 reward out for any information on shooter at Orland Square Mall
A shooting at a busy area mall leaves an 18-year-old dead. Now, his family is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Right now, police are on a manhunt searching for 19-year-old Jakharr Williams from University Park, who they say opened fire and killed 18-year-old Javon Britten.
Williams has an active parole warrant and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
According to family members, Britten was at the mall with his cousin when they came across someone from their high school, Rich Central.
There was an altercation and that's when police say Williams allegedly shot the gun. Britten's aunt says he shot at Javon five times and at the cousin twice.
The Cook County Medical Examiner determined Britten was shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital.
As for the mall, it has returned to it's normal opening times.
Family members and classmates say Britten was friendly and calm. His mother says he was the child every mother wish they had.
