"ButterBurgers" have made their way to Chicago
The famous "ButterBurger" and frozen custard chain has made its way to Chicago. According to ABC 7, the long-anticipated Culver's opened on Tuesday, January 22. The new location is located in Bronzeville in a shopping complex at 3355 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. The owner is Baron Waller, who is a former resident of Bronzeville. He made a point to hire people from the community as well as students. From the lines at the new location, it seems that Culver's may be real competition for the White Castle that is located in the same shopping complex.
The southside location is just the first entrance of Culver's into the city. There are plans for another location on Irving Park Road. In the meantime, butter burgers are plentiful at the southside location.
