CTA, Metra, Pace and ridesharing services are expecting a price increase
A new year has begun which means there are some new laws, ordinances and taxes in effect. As the budgets for the city and city services are going in effect, Chicagoans will see some increases in transportation prices. There are increases in CTA, Metra and Pace fares. There is also an additional proposed fee on ridesharing services. Here is a brief run down on what to expect in the first few weeks of 2018.
CTA fare increase, starting January 7:
- $0.25 increase for bus fare
- $0.25 increase for train fare
- 30-Day Pass increases by $5
- O'Hare Station fare increases by $0.15
Metra fare increase, starting February 1:
- $0.25 increase for one-way tickets
- Monthly passes will increase between $9–$12.50 based on the zones
- 10-Ride tickets will increase between $4.25–$7.75 based on the zones
Pace fare increase, started on January 1:
- $0.25 increase for bus fare
