Game of the Week Returns with 2024 High School Basketball
Game of the Week is BACK for the 2024 basketball season! This February and March, The U and CW26 will be broadcasting both girls and boys high school basketball on Game of the Week. In addition, we will present the Girls & Boys Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Championships as well as the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Super-Sectionals.
Bringing you all the action this season are long time Game of the Week announcers Jim Blaney and Matt Rodewald. Kenny McReynolds will provide the play-by-play while Rick Malnati and Patricia Babcock McGraw offer color commentary. Kacy Standohar and Brandon Pope are this season’s sideline reporters.
Starting things off is one of the biggest boys basketball rivalries of the year, DePaul College Prep vs. Saint Ignatius. Watch these two top teams go head-to-head Friday, February 2, at 7P LIVE on The U.

But that’s not all! This season’s coverage all leads up to the epic IHSA Girls/Boys 1A-4A Basketball Semi-Finals and Championships, which will also be airing LIVE on The U and CW26. First up is the Girls Tournament running Thursday, February 29 - Saturday, March 2 from CEFCU Arena in Normal, IL followed by The Boys Semi-Finals and Championships airing Thursday, March 7 - Saturday, March 9 from the State Farm Center in Champaign, IL.
