Chicago high school students will be hitting the runway in the ultimate prom fashion show
Over the past ten years, teens from all over the city and suburbs have walked the runway in the epic Prom Fantasy Fashion Show. Each year, the event gets bigger and bigger with amazing scenes, beautiful gowns and fabulous energy. This year, the show will be hosted by our very own Felicia Lawrence, from The Jam. However, Prom Fantasy is not just about the glitz and the glam.
Over 200 students audition for a chance to participate in a nine-week, intensive program that equips them with tools to use on and off the runway. The training includes a college prep workshop series, fitness initiatives, a professional photo shoot and runway modeling prep. Ultimately, the models have the opportunity to take home college scholarships as well as gift certificates for prom dresses and tuxedos.
There are a total of 21 high school models in this year's production. They range in ages from 14 to 18 years old. Some of the high schools represented include Kenwood High School, Gwendolyn Brooks High School, Homewood Flossmoor High School and more. The show will be Saturday, January 27, at 7PM.
