The 2nd Annual Let's Feed Chicago is Here!

CW26, The U, Me-TV FM, Beam Legal and the Chicago Sun-Times are partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository for the second annual Let’s Feed Chicago virtual food drive. We are asking you for help to feed the hungry in the Chicagoland area. To make a gift, text CW26 to 41444 (standard text rates may apply) or click here to donate. No donation is too small; $1 provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.

Your donations help purchase food for the Food Depository’s nearly 700 community partners – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and similar programs – across Cook County. Those partners support people like David, who visits his local food pantry on the city’s South Side. David had to retire several years ago due to health issues stemming from his diabetes. Between healthcare costs and other living expenses, it’s difficult for him to also afford food.

From the pantry, David and his neighbors are able to pick up nutritious groceries like fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and milk.

“It’s fabulous,” he said. “I count on this.”

There are so many people like David that are suffering from food insecurity in Chicago and throughout the United States.

-1 in 7 people in Chicago are at risk of hunger

-More than 42 million people in America were food insecure in 2021

-In 2021, Feeding America predicted 11.8 of Cook County residents lived in food insecure households.

To help those suffering from food insecurity across Cook County, text CW26 to 41444 (standard text rates may apply) or click here to donate.
