This Thanksgiving, before you gather around your dinner table, gather around your TV for the annual Chicago Thanksgiving Parade! Ranked by TimeOut as the second-best Thanksgiving Parade in the country, the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade is a three-hour long procession down Chicago’s legendary State Street featuring floats, balloons, dancers, and more. You can expect guest appearances (in helium balloon form) from the Cookie Monster, Garfield, the Lorax, and Rudolph. Plus, catch performances from local groups such as the Bloom Township High School District Show Choir, Jesse White Tumbling Team, and the Crystal Lake Strikers Drumline. And of course, ring in the holiday season with Jolly Old St. Nick himself who will be taking part in the festivities.
