Wrigley ballpark favorite: Chicago Dogs
We're not sure who can go to a baseball game and not love every minute — the fans, the energy and, most importantly, the food. It's difficult to cheer on the Chicago Cubs with an empty stomach. While there are plenty of stands to grab a hot dog at Wrigley Field, we recently visited the classic 'Chicago Dogs.' This stand comes up every few sections as you make your way through the crowds on the first level, and we hate to break it to you, but there's usually a line at each one. If you're a glass-half-full kind of person, you understand lines are a good thing when it comes to food.
Pro tip: these stands are cash only; be sure to grab a Hamilton (or a Jackson if you also plan on adding a draft beer) before waiting in line.
This Wrigley ballpark favorite serves up a Chicago-style hot dog with the option of all the works (yes, please). We're also not upset at the fact they offer raw or grilled onions... although some purists may argue it strays from tradition.
Talk about one good-looking hot dog! This Vienna Beef was dragged through the graden; topped with yellow mustard, neon-green relish, juicy tomato wedges, hot sport peppers and onions (lacking the crunch); dusted with celery salt; and wrapped in a poppy-seed bun. It tasted just as delicious as it looks appealing.
Go forth, baseball fans. Root, root, root for the Cubbies and stay hungry for a win on a full stomach.
