Meet Chicago’s Typewriter Poets
Lisa Marie Farver and Coelti hit Chicago's streets on the weekends, hauling around 10-pound typewriters and writing poems on the spot for strangers. Typewriter poetry allows Farver and Coelti to connect with people in “spontaneous” and “thrilling” ways that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19.
