Watch a Special Presentation of the Silver Circle Awards Sunday on The U!
Established in 1992, the Silver Circle Awards is a celebration of Chicago television that recognizes individuals who have devoted 25 years or more to the broadcasting industry and have made significant contributions to the industry and the television community. This year's Silver Circle Awards, sponsored by the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, took place on Friday, May 13 at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel.
This Sunday, May 29, at 7P on The U, we will be airing a taped broadcast of the ceremony. This year's honorees include: Mary Margaret Bartley, Derrick Blakley, Phil Ponce, Martha Teichner, and Roz Varon. Not only will you see some the best of the best in the Chicago/Midwest broadcast world receive honor and recognition, but also the induction of three television greats including Don Cornelius who started "Soul Train" right here on WCIU, Channel 26.
