The Hype of All American

All American has been one of the most popular shows to come from The CW Network. The show premiered in October 2018 and its fourth season begins Monday, February 21. The show was inspired by the life of professional football star, Spencer Paysinger, and takes us into the world of high school football and the trials and tribulations that come with it. 

In the show, Spencer James is a rising high school football player at South Crenshaw High School. When he is suddenly approached by Billy Baker, the football coach at Beverly Hills High, he decides to grasp at the opportunity for something better. Spencer now has to juggle both his south side heritage and his newfound life at Beverly Hills.

Now Comes All American: Homecoming

All American: Homecoming takes us deeper inside the world of college sports with a character that we already know and love. This show focuses on Simone Hicks. In All American, Simone was known as the girlfriend of Beverly Hills High quarterback, Jordan Baker. In All American, Simone goes through several hardships, but now it is her time to shine.

All American: Homecoming was first alluded to in All American when the backdoor pilot aired in season 3. In this episode, Simone visits the Historically Black college and university (HBCU), Bringston which is the epitome of Black excellence. Now, after a long time off of the court, Simone has the opportunity to revamp her tennis career and compete at the highest level possible. 

Tennis is not the only sport highlighted in this new spinoff series. All American: Homecoming also gives us insight into the world of baseball through the new character, Damon Sims (played by Peyton Alex Smith) who works to gain his footing in the baseball program at Bringston. In this new spinoff series, get ready for more competitive sports, more hungry athletes, and more drama all set against the backdrop of a prestigious HBCU University.

All American: Homecoming premieres Monday, February 21 at 8P right after the season 4 premiere of All American at 7P. Watch it here on CW26.
