Basketball Hoops Vanish From Near South Side Campus

Officials at a Near South Side school have for years removed its basketball hoops from the court at night and on weekends, saying it’s a safety precaution. But a prominent activist said it’s just another way the city is withholding resources while young people and neighbors look for safe ways to stay occupied and have fun.
