Skinner North Fifth-Graders Engineer a Solution
Skinner North Classical School’s Girls Lego Robotics Team is bringing their design to life. The team designed a rain garden out of Legos when their playground experienced some flooding.
Now, thanks to the Central States Water Environment Association their project and design is turning into a reality.
A rain garden is going to be put in place to allow rainwater to runoff roofs or walkways. This is key in preventing another flooding from happening at the school’s playground.
This idea came about as the students were learning about stormwater in class. Starting at 10AM, the installation of the rain garden will begin, which will include underground water storage.
